Behavior

Typically, Wren - quite secretive and cautious bird, they are difficult to see and even harder to be surprised. They spend most of their time in the thick grass and disappear at the slightest danger. In particular, it is characteristic of wrens, flute, and in particular for the nightingale wren-flute (Microcerculus marginatus). However, there are exceptions - for example, cactus wren behave freely and openly. Nevertheless, despite his reticence, many birds in the mating season loudly sing, thus marking the territory. Thus, the characteristic singing in the middle of spring, you can easily find ordinary wren sitting on a high tree stump or a tree branch. In cactus and scrub wrens sometimes be heard singing together male and female.

Public behavior is somewhat different in different species. Chestnut and zubchatoklyuvye wren live in flocks, often together with other birds. The same can be said about shrub wren (Thryothorus thoracicus), which can often be seen in the company thamnophilidae. However, other species - especially those that live in more temperate climates, behave in a specific, occur singly or in pairs. The latter applies to ordinary wren - despite its small size, it defends against other birds relatively large area around the nest.
